Automatically backup photos to Google Drive in Android

Things are a little tricky when it comes to using Google Drive on Android, this is because the 15GB of free storage you get with your drive is shared between your mail and photos.

  1. Open the Google Drive app and tap the hamburger menu in the top left corner.
  2. Go to Settings -> Auto Add button and turn it on.
  3. Doing so will create a folder called Google Photos in your Google Drive where all the uploaded photos will be stored.
  4. Now you must enable Back up & Sync in the Google Photos App.
  5. Open the Google Photos App and tap the Hamburger menu in the top left corner.
  6. Select Settings -> Back up & Sync option and turn it on.
